Originally from Starkville, MS, he graduated from Mississippi State University then moved to Florida for law school and practiced law in Florida until 2010, when he returned to Starkville and founded the Law Offices of C. Marty Haug. Swayze earned his B.B.A. in Accounting in 1984 from Ole Miss, followed by his Juris Doctor in 1990 from the University of Mississippi School of Law.
