- Q. Can I file an uncontested divorce for a flat fee in Georgia?
- A: Yes, there are many lawyers who will handle an uncontested divorce for a flat fee. I prefer a flat fee b/c it saves time not having to document the time spent on every email, text or phone call. I know how much time I will likely have to spend on a case like this, and thus can offer a pretty fair flat fee on these kinds of cases.

- Q. We have two pieces of property, one in my name and one in me and my husbands name. I'm trying to get away from him.
- A: I'm not exactly sure what your question is, however it sounds like you're ready for a divorce. Depending on exactly what is going on in your situation, a TPO might be necessary as well. Generally speaking, the property acquired during the marriage is marital property and subject to equitable split. I suggest you contact a family law attorney to help you navigate through this difficult situation.
