James Luster is a seasoned criminal defense attorney and partner at Cofer Luster Law Firm. Before dedicating his career to defending the accused, James honed his skills as a prosecutor in the Lubbock and Tarrant County District Attorney’s Offices. During his tenure, he served as lead counsel on cases ranging from misdemeanor DWI to high-stakes felonies, including Continuous Sexual Assault, Aggravated Robbery, and Murder.
While serving in Tarrant County’s Family Violence Unit, James focused on domestic assault cases, gaining invaluable experience in some of the most sensitive and complex areas of criminal law. This experience, combined with handling thousands of cases spanning juvenile and adult misdemeanors and felonies, has made James a battle-tested advocate in the courtroom.
