Theresa has represented numerous clients in federal courts around the country in intellectual property disputes involving a wide range of technologies, including e-commerce, computer software, encryption, telecommunications, network architecture, and mobile applications. While her family’s military service made for a mobile childhood, the DFW metroplex has been her home for more than ten years and is where she received her post-secondary education, first as a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington and then at Texas A&M University School of Law in Fort Worth. Roya was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and returned to her hometown after several years of practicing family law in Austin, Texas. While in law school at the University of Texas, Roya focused her studies on domestic violence and international human rights law. There, she gained a passion for empowering people and concentrated her work on matters regarding international family law. Roya was then awarded the 2020 Mike A.
