Mr. Halttunen has successfully represented many clients facing a range of criminal charges from misdemeanors to murder. Mr. Halttunen previously worked as a police officer where he had assignments including detectives where he was responsible for investigating cases that included financial fraud. Mr. Halttunen was also a member of the major crash teams and investigated many serious injury and fatal car crashes including as the lead investigator. Marcus grew up in Salem, Oregon, watching his father, Marc Gunn, and grandfather, Robert Gunn, working as criminal defense attorneys. Marcus decided to continue the family legacy by receiving his Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy in 2018 from Brigham Young University and his J.D. from the Willamette University College of Law in 2021. Marcus is a member of the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (OCDLA) and the National College of DUI Defense (NCDD), and the executive editor of the 2025 Trial Notebook, an OCDLA publication.
