Marcus A. Gunn
Gunn & Gunn, P.C.
Marcus grew up in Salem, Oregon, watching his father, Marc Gunn, and grandfather, Robert Gunn, working as criminal defense attorneys. Marcus decided to continue the family legacy by receiving his Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy in 2018 from Brigham Young University and his J.D. from the Willamette University College of Law in 2021. Marcus is a member of the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (OCDLA) and the National College of DUI Defense (NCDD), and the executive editor of the 2025 Trial Notebook, an OCDLA publication. Since 2021, Marcus has primarily practiced in criminal defense, while also assisting with expungements (motions to set aside) and gun rights restoration.
When he is not practicing law, he enjoys fishing for salmon, steelhead, and trout around Oregon.

- Q. Can I leave Oregon with a pending Class B misdemeanor and bail restrictions?
- A: Because you do not have a lawyer yet, you could write a letter to the court indicating that you need to travel to Georgia for a pre-planned vacation. Send a copy of the letter to the prosecutor. Provide the date you are leaving, the flight information, and the date you return to Oregon. I typically draft a motion to the court asking to "modify the release agreement" to allow the specific travel plan, explaining the purpose of the travel, and the exact dates when the client leaves and returns to the state. I typically see little to no objection from the prosecutor for these requests. The court normally responds within three judicial (business) days.
