I am an experienced trial attorney, and have represented thousands of individuals in times of crises since 1989, in criminal and juvenile cases and family law. I am passionate about helping ordinary people through extraordinary crises and providing them the opportunity to be heard in the process. I am no longer accepting cases.

I was raised in Minnesota. My academic journey took me to St. Mary’s University of Minnesota in Winona, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in business, graduating cum laude. I furthered my education at the University of St. Thomas School of Law, where I held the position of senior editor for the Law Journal and worked as a certified student attorney in the Elder Law Clinic. My legal practice is centered around family law, real estate, and estate planning.

Frederick A. Bechtold has been an attorney for over thirty years, becoming a member of the Florida Bar in 1990, the Minnesota Bar in 1999, the Wisconsin Bar in 2012, and the bar the United States Supreme Court in 2019. Currently, Fred practices exclusively criminal appeal law in the State of Wisconsin.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Chris served eight years in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper and Russian translator for Military Intelligence. He continued in government service as a prosecuting attorney; a position for which he made hundreds of court appearances. It is this extensive courtroom experience that Chris brings to Rosengren Kohlmeyer, Law Office. chtd. He is an active member of the St. Peter Catholic Church as well as a saltwater enthusiast. Cooley Law School’s accelerated law degree program.
