Kelly King was born and raised in Northern Virginia.  After graduating from the College of William and Mary, she then attended University of Virginia School of Law.  Upon obtaining her law degree, Ms. King first worked as a prosecutor in Central Virginia.  She quickly realized her true passion was in defending clients in need.  Ms. King worked for almost seven years at the Public Defender's Office in Loudoun County, where she handled every type of case from minor traffic offenses to First Degree Murder.

Ryan began his legal career at the Richmond School of Law, volunteering with the Richmond Law Innocence Project and the Legal Aid Society of Central Virginia. After passing the Virginia Bar, Ryan worked at the Hampton Public Defender's Office for three and a half years. There he tried countless jury trials including his first murder case and cases involving life-mandatory felony offenses. Marissa Boyce is a Virginia native and Richmond transplant. She is a 2013 graduate of the Catholic University of America’s Columbus School of Law, and worked as a magistrate in the central Virginia area before coming to the Richmond Public Defender’s Office. The majority of her practice is in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations courthouse, where she litigates cases involving juvenile defendants, juvenile victims, and family or household members.
