Born and raised in Akron, OH, John Watters graduated from the University of Akron in the spring of 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in English, a minor in Pre-Law Philosophy, and a profound desire to help those in need. After taking some time off to enjoy being a new father, John enrolled in the University of Akron School of Law.

While attending law school, John was a member of Akron’s nationally-ranked mock trial program, where he and his team became regional champions in the American Association for Justice Trial Advocacy Competition in 2017.

Mr. Shaffer is a native of Steubenville,Ohio. He is married to Arlene B. Angel-Shaffer, Esq. who is currently retired. His daughter, Sarah and her husband are both Registered Nurses. They are the proud parents of three sons. His oldest son, Daniel is a student at Carlow Univerity and working at HVL Laboratories. His younger son, Joseph is currently serving in the United States Air Force.
