My career started as a trial lawyer for the IRS Office of Chief Counsel and I have spent more than 25 years in private practice resolving problems with the IRS and state tax agencies.

I graduated from Law School in 1974 and was admitted to practice before the California Supreme Court and the Federal District Court the same year. In 1980 I was admitted to practice before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. I have handled hundreds of Workers Compensation cases and Social Security Disability cases. At present I am limiting my practice to Social Security Disability appeals.

Eric Smith received his bachelor’s degree from UCSD in 1995 and his law degree from Pepperdine University in 1997. Eric holds the Certified Financial Planner(TM) designation. He has been a securities dispute arbitrator for FINRA and taught retirement planning classes for Cal Lutheran’s MBA program.
