Susan C. Odess focuses her practice on assisting homeowners, commercial property owners, community associations and businesses with insurance coverage disputes and insurance claims. She is a licensed public adjuster and has over ten years of experience in the handling of first-party property insurance claims arising from hurricanes, flooding, fires and other mass casualties. Ms. Odess is routinely published in matters regarding the insurance industry and is an annual contributor to Florida Construction Law, a comprehensive textbook used to teach construction law at the University of Miami School of Law.
While in law school, Ms. Odess served as an intern for the Honorable Adalberto Jordan, United States District Judge for the Southern District of Florida.
As an active member of the community, she serves as a mentor with Women of Tomorrow, is active in the Junior League of Miami and the Florida Association for Women Lawyers. She also received a judicial appointment as an Attorney Ad Litem and volunteers her time advocating for juvenile and animal rights. Susan previously sat on the Board of Directors of Margaux’s Miracle Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to publishing the results of research seeking to test and improve upon complementary treatment for cancer patients.
