Robert J. Tomei Jr.
Johnston Tomei Lenczycki & Goldberg LLC
Robert, a lifelong resident of Lake County, Illinois, proudly considers Gurnee his hometown. His legal journey began in 2012 when he established his solo practice, Tomei Law, focusing in consumer rights, foreclosure defense, debt defense, and real estate transactions and litigation.
In 2018, Robert took on a new role as a partner and co-founder of the Law Firm of Johnston Tomei Lenczycki & Goldberg, LLC, a full service law firm. While continuing his work in real estate litigation and transactions, he maintained his commitment to consumer rights law where he represents individuals in various disputes involving major car dealerships, manufacturers, corporate entities, and financial institutions in both State and Federal Courts. Robert's passion for civil rights law, the driving force behind his legal career, has become one of his primary focuses, extending his advocacy to representing individuals in claims related to Title VII Discrimination, First Amendment, statutory due process, and Constitutional due process.
Engaging with the community has been a consistent aspect of Robert's career. He actively participated in professional associations and co-chaired two committees at the Lake County Bar Association. In April 2021, he secured a two-year term on the College of Lake County Board of Trustees in a county-wide election. In this role, he applied his legal skills and experience to address complex matters facing the College.
Robert is affiliated with esteemed organizations, including the National Association of Consumer Advocates, the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, the Association of Foreclosure Defense Attorneys, the Lake County Bar Association, and the Illinois State Bar Association. He is admitted to practice law in the State of Illinois and the Northern District of Illinois.
