Legal Answers
7 Questions Answered
- Q. What rights do I wave at an arraignment hearing, and can I still fire my PD and look for council?
- A: Yes, you can get private Counsel in place of your Public Defendant any time until day of trial.
Wishing you the very best with your case.
- Q. Hi I got a dui last year and was supposed to start my work release program on 3/1/23 but I mistaken it for a later date
- A: Probation Violation and Arrest Warrant Exposure.
Need to have your attorney appear in court before the Judge to explain what happened and request an extension of time to report to work program. You do not want to get arrested before you have had an opportunity to go before the judge and get an extension,
Wishing you the very best.
- Q. How does a pro-per litigant get discovery docs from the DA before the arraignment hearing?
- A: The District Attorney's Office has a policy that they will only release Discovery to an attorney, Public Defender or Private Defense Attorney.
Your will need the court to order the Release of Discovery . If you qualify, they will release to your Public Defender or Private Defense Attorney at the arraignment Hearing. You can ask for a continuance of your Arraignment so you can review Discovery before entering your Plea.
Wishing you the very best outcome of your case.
