Richard Carl Griesinger

Richard C. Griesinger is among the most experienced divorce attorneys in Pinellas County. Since 1985, he has aggressively represented divorce clients in North Pinellas County (i.e., in the Palm Harbor, Clearwater, Oldsmar, Tarpon Springs area). His practice is limited exclusively to divorce/custody law. His typical cases involve contested, and often complex, issues of custody, alimony, and equitable distribution. Mr. Griesinger graduated from Stetson College of Law in Pinellas County in 1977, then served as Clearwater Asst. City Attorney until he began private practice in North Pinellas in 1985. He is a member in good standing of the Clearwater Bar Association (Family Law Section) and the Florida Bar Association (Family Law Section).

Mr. Griesinger knows that divorce lawyers, above all else, must be expert problem solvers. Therefore, he takes pride in his research and case analytical skills, as well as his straightforward approach with clients. Judges, not juries, hear divorce cases. On a personal level, he is also proud to have been a Big Brother and a volunteer at a nursing home for many years. Because judges do not want emotion brought into their courtrooms (even in cases involving children), Mr. Griesinger strives to ensure each client displays as little emotion as possible in court, whether testifying or not.

The way that Mr. Griesinger discusses the facts and law with each client will often be different (that is, more negative) from the way he presents them to the judge and opposing attorney. But Mr. Griesinger will never enter a courtroom in a defensive mode. If a client asks his opinion of the outcome of the case or specific issue, he will tell it like he sees it, and give a percentage of probability (which sometimes changes as the case develops).
