Rafee'a S. Majeed
Law Office of R.S. Majeed
Attorney Rafee’a S. Majeed is the Owner and Managing Attorney of The Law Office of R.S. Majeed. I am a Texas licensed Family Law attorney representing clients in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I have been representing clients in this area for over 5 years, primarily handling divorces (contested and uncontested), child custody cases, child support cases, and modifications and enforcements of all family law cases.
One of my most key characteristics enabling me to be a successful attorney is adaptability. Because the laws are constantly changing, each and every case brings a unique set of challenges and issues and requires the ability to quickly adapt to keep up with the changes.
I have had success in obtaining desired results for my clients, but I also believe in having tough conversations with clients to ensure that their expectations are aligned with what the law will allow. I have a continuous dialogue with clients to discuss any changes in their situation as their case progresses and make necessary adjustments to their case as needed, if necessary.
I am proud to be a Texas lawyer. I work hard to provide and improve the level of service and representation given my clients.

- Q. When do I sign divorce documents for a Zoom hearing?
- A: If you have any final decree that is agreed to by both you and your spouse, you and your spouse should each sign the final decree and then email a copy of the signed final decree to the court prior to your Zoom hearing.
You may want to contact the Court Coordinator of the court your case is in and ask her for an email address to email the signed final decree so that the Judge can see it and then sign it.
If you and your spouse are not in agreement with the terms of the final decree, neither of you should sign it.
I hope this information helps. Good luck to you.
- Q. How to make special appearance in a parent-child modification case in Texas?
- A: A person makes a "special appearance" when they are asserting that the Court does not have personal jurisdiction over them. In your situation, you already have a Texas court order, so the Texas court has jurisdiction over you. So, a special appearance would not work for you. Also, you cannot use a special appearance to review evidence that the Petitioner has against you.
Texas law says that under being served with a lawsuit, the Respondent has until 10:00 a.m. on the Monday following the expiration of 20 days to file an answer. If you fail to file an answer, the Petitioner can proceed with the lawsuit without any additional notification to you, and possible obtain a default judgment ... Read More
- Q. Custody determination for unmarried parents in Texas after father's jail release
- A: No, he would automatically get custody of either children upon release from prison. A Judge will have to determine what is in the children's (or child's) best interest. The Judge will consider a number of factors when making this determination. A couple of them being 1) what was he incarcerated for?, 2) the previous physical abuse, 3) the age of the children, etc.
You should consult with a family law attorney in your area to determine what your legal rights and options are. I would suggest you consult with a family law attorney prior to Father getting released from prison, so you have enough information (i.e. legal process, attorney fees, etc).
I hope this information helps.
