Biography

Michelle Perez-Yanez joined Haeggquist & Eck as an associate attorney in 2021. A graduate of California Western School of Law and the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, Michelle has spent her legal career representing employees and consumers. In her role at HAE, Michelle represents employees in claims involving wrongful termination, discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour violations at work. Michelle is experienced in counseling employees through all stages of litigation, as well as in claims before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the California Department of Fair Employment & Housing.

Michelle is admitted to practice in all California State Courts, the U.S. District Court, and is currently pending admission to the State Bar of Texas. Michelle is a member of the American Association of Justice, Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, and the San Diego County Bar Association.

A native of the country’s southernmost border with Mexico – Brownsville, Texas – Michelle came to San Diego seeking to continue to serve the communities by the border. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and reading poems by Pablo Neruda.
