I am Elliott H. Jung, one of the founding partners at HHJ Trial Attorneys. My practice primarily involves assisting individuals who have suffered serious injuries, brain injuries, and have been victims of sexual assaults. I am committed to advocating for those who have faced catastrophic injuries or have been subjected to unfair treatment and retaliation in their workplaces. My dedication has been acknowledged by my peers, earning me a place in the Top 2.5% of attorneys in my field by Super Lawyers, and recognition as one of the Top 40 under 40 personal injury attorneys by the National Trial Lawyers.
Since the establishment of HHJ Trial Attorneys, I have played a pivotal role in recovering millions of dollars for our clients who have been injured. Our firm was recently honored by the San Diego Union Tribune as the “Best Litigation Firm” in San Diego County, a testament to our proficiency in jury trials.
For nearly a decade, I have honed my skills in jury trials, aiming to be the most effective injury attorney in the courtroom for every case I handle. This focus has enabled our clients to settle their personal injury and employment cases for their full value without the need for a courtroom trial. My reputation as an attorney who is prepared to go to trial unless a fair resolution is offered precedes me among opponents and defense attorneys. Despite my relatively young age, I have already tried more than 50 jury trial cases, establishing a commanding presence in the courtroom and earning the respect of opponents, peers, and judges alike.
My drive is deeply rooted in my personal history and experiences with my family. As the son of immigrant parents, my passion for aiding those in need is closely tied to this aspect of my identity.

- Q. I work for a city government. I work 15 hour days on occasion and they only pay me time and a half after 10 hours.
- A: California labor laws tend to offer stronger worker protections than federal laws, especially when it comes to overtime. However, some public agency employees fall under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) rather than California’s state labor laws. Being classified as a “confidential employee” might impact the rules that apply to you, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that California’s labor laws are entirely overridden by the FLSA.
It might be helpful to have an employment attorney review your classification and pay structure to ensure compliance with both federal and California state labor laws. HHJ Trial Attorneys, who are experienced in handling employment law cases, may be able ... Read More
- Q. I have a lawsuit case and I have got a default of judgment & now other party had answer to complaint after Court aweek
- A: The other party initially failed to respond to the lawsuit in the time allowed. However, if they have now submitted an answer to the complaint, they may be attempting to overturn the default judgment by asking the court to set it aside. Courts will sometimes consider this request, especially if the other party can show a valid reason for their delay, such as an excusable mistake or misunderstanding.
To understand the implications of their late response and protect your default judgment, consider consulting with an attorney who can help you navigate this situation. HHJ Trial Attorneys, who handle complex civil litigation, may be able to assist you in opposing the other party's efforts ... Read More
- Q. I believe this is defamation of character and if so i need a lawyer to help me i have all of the elements can you help.
- A: wrongful interference with your business, and possibly employment-related violations if the allegations against you were unfounded and negatively impacted your livelihood. Since you have evidence that could disprove the accusations of using proprietary information, you might have grounds to take legal action, especially if this led to your business closure, an extension of probation, and the loss of a promotional step increase.
Gather all written documentation, including communications with your union, emails, or any statements from coworkers that contradict the accusations. This evidence can be critical if you decide to pursue a claim for damages or wrongful treatment.
To assess your options ... Read More
