Michael J. Lichner

Michael Lichner received his Bachelor of Arts in History with minors in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Upon graduation, Mr. Lichner joined Teach for America, dedicating the next two years of his life to teaching middle school students in inner-city Houston, Texas. While teaching in Houston, Mr. Lichner earned his Master of Education from the University of St. Thomas. After returning to Chicago to help build a family construction business, Mr. Lichner attended The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois, where he received his Juris Doctor in May of 2010. While attending law school, Mr. Lichner clerked for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in the Felony Trial Division at 26th and California. Mr. Lichner was admitted to practice law in Illinois in November 2010. In January 2011, Mr. Lichner joined Rathbun, Cservenyak & Kozol, LLC, where his practice focuses on representing injured individuals.

When he is not practicing law, Mr. Lichner enjoys spending time with his family, exploring nature, running, rock climbing, scuba diving, snowboarding, and reading. In 2007, he and two fellow climbers tested their lead-climbing skills on a six-pitch climb up the historic Flat Irons in Boulder, Colorado, reaching the summit nearly eight hours after they first began. Mr. Lichner is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Will County Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, and steadfastly believes that every child deserves an opportunity to attain an excellent education.
