Kaitlin Fleur Nares
Personal Injury and Civil Rights Attorney
My focus is on my clients’ care and recovery. My career is defined by my determination to stand up for those who cannot fight for themselves and my passion for protecting the civil rights and liberties of all individuals. I am an attorney you want in your corner.
I was born in California and raised in Georgia. I graduated with high honors from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, and earned my law degree from St. John’s University School of Law in New York. During law school, I interned with the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, the Eastern District of New York United States Attorney’s Office, and a civil rights firm. It was at this civil rights firm that I discovered my passion for advocating on behalf of society’s most vulnerable—those injured through no fault of their own.
I spent five years practicing as a civil rights attorney in federal court in New York City and Denver. My career began with work on the Central Park Five litigation, which remains New York City’s largest civil rights settlement to date. I also handled other high-profile cases involving severe violations of civil rights and liberties, including police brutality, false arrest, malicious prosecution, and wrongful convictions in both New York and Colorado.
I am licensed to practice law in the state and federal courts of Colorado, New Jersey, and New York. I feel at home in both state and federal courtrooms and have passionately litigated for my clients’ rights in the United States District Court of Colorado, the United States District of New Jersey, the Southern District of New York, and the Eastern District of New York. Like David facing Goliath, I have achieved successful settlements against government agencies that violated my clients’ rights to life, liberty, property, due process, and equal protection under the law. I have also worked with the Colorado Civil Rights Pro Bono Panel.
