Biography

I take great pride in representing individuals from the Midlands in personal injury cases. Suffering an injury due to someone else's negligence can lead to significant challenges, and my aim is always to support those affected by providing compassionate legal representation and guiding them through the complexities of the legal system. My practice primarily deals with cases involving motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, catastrophic injuries, and wrongful death. I have a wealth of experience in both state and federal trial courts. I have been honored to be included on several Super Lawyers and Midlands Legal Elite lists, and I am a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, which requires peer nomination and a proven track record in the courtroom.

3 Questions Answered
Q. How can I recover belongings from a friend's house in SC?
A: I don't have criminal law experience, but a civil lawsuit would not be well suited to solve this problem. It is a lengthy process designed for a harmed person to recover damages, not to force your friend to return your property. The police may be able to help in the short term, but it probably depends on her specific conduct.
Q. Can insurance decide fault if other driver ticketed?
A: An insurance company may take the position that its insured is not at fault for a collision even where the insured was ticketed. Neither the police officer who investigated the collision nor any insurance adjuster has the final say on liability. If you were injured and suffered damages in the collision and the insurance company is refusing to accept responsibility, you should speak with a personal injury attorney. You may have to file a lawsuit, but if you have compelling arguments regarding the other driver being at fault, it will give you the opportunity to recover for your losses.
Q. Can endometriosis misdiagnosis leading to severe complications justify negligence?
A: Yes, there could be a claim in this situation, but it depends on many factors. If there is a case here, it would be a medical malpractice case, which requires a physician review of all medical records before any case can be initiated. Whether the doctor who failed to diagnose your friend was negligent will depend on what information she had at the time and whether the standard of care required her to do more than she did. There are also caps or limitations placed on this type of case by tort reform efforts, which means a careful analysis of the potential damages would be required. If your friend is interested in pursuing a case, she should reach out to an attorney as soon as possible. Please keep in mind she may have as little as two years to file something. ... Read More
