James Robert Embrey

Jim Embrey is a Partner in our office in Nashville, Tennessee, and he focuses his practice on trucking and transportation, general liability, insurance coverage, professional negligence and medical malpractice, as well as professional malpractice and ethics.
Jim has represented numerous Fortune 500 companies and individual professionals as a trial lawyer, and honed his legal craft while working in-house as a Managing Counsel and General Counsel for major insurance corporations. This dual experience gives Jim unprecedented insight and knowledge to anticipate the needs of his clients and provide exceptional and effective service.
Earlier in his career, Jim served as an Airborne Infantryman in the United States Army with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and was awarded the Combat Infantryman’s Badge for his service in the Middle East.

GENERAL LIABILITY
Jim has extensive litigation and coverage experience representing large and small corporations alike in general liability cases involving premises liability, employee hiring/training, security and other general negligence allegations.

MEDICAL MALPRACTICE
Jim represents medical doctors including OB/GYN, family practice, oncology and other medical care providers in professional negligence lawsuits.

TRANSPORTATION
Jim defends clients in both motor vehicle accidents and common carrier incidents from the incipiency of litigation through verdict. He also advises common carriers on best practices to manage and mitigate risk. Jim is an active member of the Defense Research Institute’s Trucking Law Committee as well as Hall Booth Smith’s Rapid Response team allowing him to arrive at an accident within a moment’s notice to ensure evidence is preserved and information obtained in order to guarantee his client is provided the best defense possible.
