American Bar Association (ABA)
Chair of Intellectual Property Law Section Division IV - Specialized IP Issues Division

Activities: In the ABA Intellecutal Property Law Section (IPLS), Gislason first chaired the Insurance and Risk Management Committee and then advanced to Chair Division IV, which is responsible for advancing ABA policy on the subjects of Intellectual Property and Antitrust, Trademarks, University Intellectual Property, Transactions and Licensing, Trade Secrets, Finance, and Promotions and Marketing. While leader of Division IV, Gislason chaired the Section Task Force regarding comments for China's Anti-Monopoly Policy and she co-chaired the Section's Task Force on Reverse Payments. Under her leadership, the Section passed a groundbreaking Resolution favoring federal court jurisdiction in Trade Secret disputes.
American Bar Association (ABA)
Founder of the Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section Animal Law Committee

Activities: Gislason brought Animal Law to the ABA in 2004 by unanimous vote of the ABA's prestigious Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) Council. When the Animal Law Committee was created, Gislason was appointed its first Chair. This is the only Animal Law Committee in the ABA and its scope is broad, ranging from Equine, Family, Endangered Species and Criminal Law to Torts and Insurance Law. She gathered the best and brightest animal lawyers from four continents, and under her stewardship, the Committee earned TIPS Innovation Awards two years in a row. While chairing the ABA TIPS Animal Law Committee for two years, Gislason created and served as Editor-In-Chief of the Animal Law Committee Newsletter and published articles in this Newsletter as well as the ABA TIPS' The Brief, TortSource, and Tort Trial & Insurance Law Journal. She is now a Fellow of the TIPS Section of the ABA.
