I have been practicing law in Washington for 38 years. My practice has focused solely on family law including such issues as divorce, support modifications, parenting plans, paternity, prenuptial agreements and gay and LGBT family law.

I have been married 39 years and have two children and two grandchildren. In my free time I enjoy golf, gardening and spending time with my family.

Joy Lee Barnhart graduated from University of Puget Sound School of Law (now Seattle University School of Law) in 1981. After working as an independent contractor primarily doing family law, she started her private practice in the 1990s. Since then, she has worked in estates and probate, guardianships, and consumer and small business bankruptcies.
