My firm is located in Nottoway County (Southside Virginia). I have15 years of experience in criminal law, family law, and personal injury. My past criminal representation involves serious crimes, such as murder, malicious wounding, embezzlement, grand larceny, and rape (less serious crimes would be DUI and Reckless Driving). I have also represented numerous clients in car accident cases, as well as, medical malpractice.

John Crandley was born and raised in Virginia Beach, and in 1998, he graduated from Cox High School, where he was the student body president in his senior year. He is married to Kate Crandley, M.D., of Tidewater Children’s Associates, who is also a 1998 Cox High School graduate. John and Kate Crandley live in Virginia Beach with their three sons. Bassel received his B.A. from the University of Hawaii in 2005 and his Law Degree from Washington & Lee University in 2008. After graduating from law school, he served as a magistrate conducting bond hearings as well as probable cause hearings for the issuance of search warrants and arrest warrants. For over the past decade, he has devoted his entire practice to defending clients in serious criminal cases. I created Clean Slate Virginia to help Virginians finally have a second chance. New Virginia laws passed in 2021 finally allow some criminal convictions to be sealed. These laws will be effective in 2025.
