A graduate of Smith College with a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, Monika spent over 25 years fighting for the rights of consumers, first at Bedford Stuyvesant Legal Services and then at District Council 37’s Municipal Employees Legal Services Plan (DC37 MELS) in New York City. Monika defended tenants from eviction proceedings and managed hundreds of consumer chapter 7 and chapter 13 bankruptcy cases. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Economics from American University in Washington, D.C., and later received my Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Drake University Law School. Since 2007, I have litigated property tax appeals on behalf of New Jersey property taxpayers before the Tax Court of New Jersey and county boards of taxation throughout the state, resulting in millions of dollars in refunds for my clients. I am also a past chair of the New Jersey Bar Association Tax Section and a current member of the Supreme Court Committee on the Tax Court.

Brian received his bachelor's degree in political science from Rutgers University College Camden where he graduated summa cum laude, earning the Jack Marvin Weiner award and the Armitage award for highest overall grade average.
