Following retirement as the contracts law attorney for the Department of the Army at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, Ms. Carson opened North Pole’s first law office. More than half of her 20-plus-year legal career has been spent as a federal Government Contracts attorney for the U.S. Army and Air Force. Ms. Carson’s current legal practice focuses on counseling small business contractors on the full range of federal procurement matters such as proposal preparation, contract interpretation, bid protests, disputes and claims, and suspension and debarment. Audit, tax and business experience as a CPA and revenue agent before attending law school. Twenty years applying those skills to transactions and litigation in the business arena for clients.

I am currently working towards a Master of Laws in Taxation at Boston University School of Law, anticipating completion in 2026. Before this, I obtained my Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. My educational background also encompasses a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts, both from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. In 2024, I was admitted to the Alaska Bar Association and the Federal District of Alaska. The following year, in 2025, I gained admission to the US Tax Court, the State Bar of Arizona, and the Federal District of Arizona.

I lead a team of legal professionals and oversee the day-to-day in-house counsel function. I regularly advises and supports senior executives and other business leaders on the full range of contractual, legal, regulatory, and corporate issues faced by a large, multi-location Alaskan business.
