I was raised in Minnesota. My academic journey took me to St. Mary’s University of Minnesota in Winona, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in business, graduating cum laude. I furthered my education at the University of St. Thomas School of Law, where I held the position of senior editor for the Law Journal and worked as a certified student attorney in the Elder Law Clinic. My legal practice is centered around family law, real estate, and estate planning.

I have been in private practice since 1983 with primary focus on employment law and employment discrimination of all types. My practice also include civil litigation including personal injury, commercial and probate.

Laurie’s practice is focused primarily on family law, including complex issues pertaining to divorce, child custody, property division, modifications of divorce decrees, orders for protection, enforcement, paternity matters, and domestic abuse.
