Pennie grew up near San Antonio and attended the University of Texas Health Science Center earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1983. After graduating law school in 2009 I worked in hospital liability defense until 2015 when I joined a plaintiff's personal injury firm. While working for the defense I gained experience that is helpful now that my practice is focused on helping individuals who have been injured seek just recovery. My practice now encompasses all aspects of plaintiff's personal injury work on medical malpractice, premises liability, and general negligence cases.

I am an arbiter at Judicial Arbiter Group, Inc., in Denver, Colorado. I served ten years as a District Court Judge in the First Judicial District, State of Colorado.
