Kathryn Batey has spent the entirety of her legal career defending clients against the justice system. Kathryn graduated from American University’s Washington College of Law in 2012 and went to work immediately for the Maryland Office of the Public Defender, where she was eventually promoted to Deputy District Public Defender for Southern Maryland. Ms. Maya P. Jefferson is an associate with Gilbert Employment Law, focusing on the representation of both federal and private sector employees involving claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, as well as violations the Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and related state and local laws. Ms. Jefferson's practice includes litigating on behalf of clients in federal and state courts, as well as administrative forums such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Merit Systems Protection Board.

Raised in Baltimore Maryland, Ms. Anukem holds a Bachelor of Arts from the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh (2007) and received her Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School (2010). Ms. Anukem practices in the areas of business, estate planning, personal injury, and family law.
