Mr. Duong is the owner of the Law Offices of Peter Duong. He holds a Juris Doctor from Stanford Law School, where he was president of the Moot Court Board and received the Hilmer Oehlman Memorial Prize and the Ira Driscoll Prize. I have been practicing immigration law since 2001. I represent a great number of clients in family-based immigration, the majority of whom have recently married a US citizen, as well as employment based immigration. I prepare the petition and file it, obtain work permits, prepare my clients for the USCIS (formerly INS) interview, appear with them at the interview, and follow up with USCIS to issue the decision to grant Permanent Residence (Green Card). We prepare petitions for foreign investors and key employees with E2 Visas, L1A and L1B Visas, as well as H-1B Visas.

Robert has advocated for immigrants and refugees since the early 1980s, when he worked with resettlement agencies in the placement of Cuban "Marielitos" refugees. After earning his law degree in 1994, the U.S. Department of Justice appointed Robert, under the Attorney General's Honor Program, to clerk for the immigration judges for one year at the Immigration Court in San Francisco. He opened his own law firm in 1995, and immediately focused on defending Central and South Americans from deportation. Robert has lived in Mexico and Brazil and speaks both Spanish and Portuguese fluently.

I have practiced immigration and naturalization law exclusively since 2003. My practice emphasizes immigration and naturalization for applicants with criminal convictions, removal defense, and working with criminal defense counsel to minimize the immigration harm from convictions.
