Practicing 34 years in Olympia, Washington, my practice is now limited to family law matters. I grew up in the once-great town of Aberdeen Washington, went to Whitman College and law school at Washington and Lee University in Virginia. I made a deliberate decision to establish a general practice in a small, but positive and growing community. Olympia was the perfect choice.

My family has always been deeply committed to public service, with both of my parents actively involved in the Rotary and Inner Wheel Clubs. My paternal grandfather, a former congressman in Nigeria and chairman of Ondo Local Government, founded the Ondo development committee. His contributions included developing the town by tarring roads and providing scholarships to indigent students, earning him an MBE from Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom and Great Britain. Before law school, I was going to be a Professor of Spanish Literature because I love books and learning about people and cultures. But a few things came up along my way into academia—kids. My oldest are twins and were born just before I finished as an undergraduate at BYU. My third was born when I was finishing up graduate school at Stanford. Number four came along part way through law school. I love being a father and I discovered that people are far more interesting than books. Being an attorney empowers me to help resolve problems.
