While in law school, Sandra had the opportunity to intern for the Honorable Jose Rodriguez at the Eleventh Judicial Circuit and at the Staff Attorney's Office in the Broward County Courthouse. Sandra was also a Certified Legal Intern at the FIU Family and Education Law Clinic and at the FIU Immigrant Children's Clinic where she handled family and dependency cases under the supervision of an attorney.

Patrice's entire career has been in community work: protecting the community from registered sex offenders, protecting abused, abandoned, and neglected children and helping families at risk of homelessness and other legal matters jeopardizing their safety and stability. Her career further focuses on the service of veterans, people living with HIV/AIDS, LGBTQ+, victims of domestic violence, and the elderly.
