I retired from the Air Force in the grade of colonel after having served 29 1/2 years active duty. I was a three-time commander at the detachment, squadron and group levels. My first passion is caring about and caring for families in the broader community because they are the foundation of our nation. My other passion is to continue what I did while on active duty - caring about and caring for servicemembers, federal civil servants and families -- whether still serving or in retirement -- in honor of their contributions to our nation.

I am an associate at Bryan Fagan, holding an MBA from UNC Chapel Hill and a law degree from South Texas College of Law. I was sworn in as an attorney on May 17, 1993. My professional memberships include the Texas State Bar, specifically the family law section, as well as the Houston Bar Association, Montgomery Bar Association, and the Woodlands Bar Association. In addition to my professional commitments, I dedicate time to volunteer work for the Christian Assistance Program. My personal interests include playing golf, singing in the church choir, and avidly reading both law-related and fictional books.

Since launching her career in family law in 1993, Dessiray has dedicated over three decades to assisting individuals and families navigate their legal challenges. Roya was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and returned to her hometown after several years of practicing family law in Austin, Texas. While in law school at the University of Texas, Roya focused her studies on domestic violence and international human rights law. There, she gained a passion for empowering people and concentrated her work on matters regarding international family law. Roya was then awarded the 2020 Mike A.
