I have practiced law in Kansas since 1995, and my primary area of focus is family law with emphasis on contested child custody proceedings. I have appeared in more than 50 different Kansas counties, and tried hundreds of cases to the Court. I have argued more than 30 appeals, and tried more than 20 jury trials.

I completed trial advocacy and appellate advocacy training with the United States Department of Justice, and the mediation training for the State of Kansas. I have helped more than 500 clients with divorces, custody matters, paternity matters and adoptions.

Served as a school board attorney, city attorney, district judge, municipal court judge, guardian ad litem and a prosecutor. I began my criminal law career at the Miami County Attorney’s Office under Elizabeth Sweeney-Reeder. During my time as a prosecutor I worked in Juvenile, Domestic Violence, Misdemeanor Traffic, Misdemeanor Crimes, Field and Game, DUI, and Felony Failure to Register cases. This broad spectrum allowed me to gain great knowledge of criminal law.
