I am from South Carolina, and I have always lived in this state. I have practiced in the 3 main areas of the state (upstate, midlands, and now in the low country).

Dave Maxfield has represented thousands consumers in personal and class action cases against banks, credit reporting agencies, and debt collectors. He obtained one of the highest verdicts on record against a furnisher in a a credit reporting case exclusive of fees, numerous large settlements, and in 2019 concluded a vehicle churning class action with total settlement value exceeding $21 million. Dave is the 4-Time Chairman of the Consumer Law Section of the South Carolina Bar and Past President of the 1900-Member Richland County Bar Association. Born in Charleston, South Carolina, I have been helping people with financial problems, financial planning and creditor abuse matters for over 40 years. My goal is to have my clients in better shape when their legal matter is concluded than when it bagan.

Lauren is a Hilton Head Native and an associate at the firm. She represents the firm’s clients in a variety of civil litigation matters such as business litigation, collections, complex foreclosures as well as real estate closings.

She graduated from Clemson University in 2011 with a B.S. in Financial Management and a minor in Accounting. She also graduated cum laude from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2015. John M. (“Jack”) Read IV was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated from The Citadel in 1991 and from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1994. He is admitted to practice law in both South Carolina and Georgia in both the federal and state courts. Kennedy was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina. She attended the University of South Carolina and graduated in 2018. After college Kennedy moved to Birmingham, Alabama where she attended Cumberland School of Law. While there, she wrote for the American Journal of Trial Advocacy, interned for the Honorable Karon O.
