I graduated Cum Laude with my J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1974. After many years of practicing law, I founded Ruane Attorneys at Law, LLC, a criminal defense law firm based in Connecticut, in 2001 with my son Jay Ruane. Our practice areas include criminal defense, DUI defense, juvenile defense, civil rights, and other areas of criminal law.

Attorney Timothy M. Schafer is the founding partner of The Law Offices of Schafer & Schafer, LLP, which he established in 2008. Mr. Schafer served on active duty as Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force from 1994 until 1998, when he earned an Associate’s degree in Applied Science. From 2001 until 2004, he served as a reservist. In 2001, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Medieval and Renaissance Studies from the University of Albany, State University of New York.
