For over three decades, Jerry has litigated civil trial and appellate cases in federal courts throughout the United States. He has been lead appellate counsel in well over 100 appeals in the federal courts and has significant Supreme Court experience. He is one of the very few attorneys who has presented oral argument in all 13 federal circuit courts of appeals.

Prior to law school, Attorney McCants taught high school chemistry and at Southern Illinois University. In addition, Attorney McCants has worked in the legal department of large Chicago bank, the Illinois Attorney General Office, the Wisconsin Supreme Court, American Express Sarbanes Oxley Compliance Unit, as the independent auditor of the largest debt collection law firm in the Country, and as a Partner at the Cochran Firm (now Imhoff & Associates) as and as a longitude adjunct researcher at the University of Chicago.
