Driven by a desire to give back, attorney Troy Doucet saw a niche that Doucet & Associates could fill in Ohio, so he created a dedicated pro bono attorney position, focused primarily on eviction cases, at his small firm. “We have a tremendous ability to do good,” Doucet says. “There are few professions on the planet that enable one person to effect so much change.”

6 Questions Answered
Q. I am 16 and from ohio, my friends sometimes buy me stuff is my step mom allowed to open my mail if its not hers?
A: Yes. Whether or not she has any custodial rights over you, your father can certainly open your mail. He can then delegate that right to your step mom, so she can also open it without permission.
Q. Can a property manger or reality company be sued for lack of property maintenance?
A: As a general answer: each city has its own rules about maintenance, in addition Ohio's statutory and common law requirements. Many tenants with apartment issues have found assistance with their city's code enforcement division, who can mandate changes to comply with the code. Other tenants have found assistance with escrowing rent when their landlords don't respond to a demand letter. Any individual legal issue would need to be addressed directly with an attorney.
Q. How many times can a judgement lien on my property be revived? How many years before statute of limitations? Thanks
A: Check out http://codes.ohio.gov/orc/2325.18 for general information regarding reviving dormant judgments and how long a creditor is allowed to revive it each time it goes dormant.
