Claimed Lawyer ProfileQ&A
Biography

Since 1999 I have labored to establish divorce settlements that are firm but fair and parenting-time schedules that work. Relocating and long-distance parenting plans. I resolve high-conflict situations, protective orders, and deal with parental alienation. I also have litigated a number of high value cases in both Summit and Stark Counties.

My firm also has handled a great number of high value transactions involving mineral rights, land leases and easements with energy companies. We have done joint ventures, partnerships, S corporations, LLCs, commercial and industrial developments, condominium developments or conversions and office building sales and purchases. Likewise, I have drafted construction contracts, lease negotiation and preparations, loan workouts and foreclosures as well as sale and purchase contracts.

Notably, I am among a handful of Ohio Attorneys who practice special education law. My focus in this area is on the parents of special needs children. I aid them in ensuring that these children receive the free and appropriate public education (FAPE) that each child is guaranteed under state and federal law.

Legal Answers
148 Questions Answered
Q. What are my options for recourse in Ohio if a butler county juvenile court employee informed me incorrectly?
A: The employees cannot give legal advice. There are literally signs all over every court stating this. YOU are responsible for either hiring an attorney or learning the rules through independent research. Appear before the court ASAP and make your explanation. Better yet, invest in actually hiring an attorney who regularly practices in your court. You have no cause of action against an employee of the court, however.
Q. Can an 18 year old get her minor account transferred to an adult account?
A: Depending on the language of the original contract with the bank the student may have to file a lawsuit against the father for injunctive relief. This is too dependent on facts not stated in the question to answer more thoroughly. THe student should work with an Family Law attorney that is local. Perhaps the student could contact the legal aid society in your town.
Q. I have legal temporary custody of my nephew. The bio mother refuses to provide me her personal contact information.
A: Your question for all ita detail does not state what the temporary order says. Follow the order and write grandmother to ask for mother's information. If that is hoe she wished to be contacted so be it. The important part for you is to demonstrate that you are communicating. Whether she gets your communication timely is her problem not yours unless there is some direct impact on a child.
