Stacy Stefanik
Stacy Stefanik’s main focus is workers’ compensation, both administratively and in litigation. She also has extensive experience handling Social Security disability claims and unemployment matters. She has represented clients at the administrative level, in court and on appeal and has tried cases in Common Pleas court, argued before the Court of Appeals, and briefed cases in the Court of Appeals and the Ohio Supreme Court.
Stacy graduated from Calvin College in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a minor in Japanese. She received her Juris Doctorate from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and was admitted to practice law in Ohio in November 2010 and to the United States District Court, Northern District of Ohio in 2011. She is a member of Ohio Association for Justice, the Lake County Bar Association and Cuyahoga County Bar Association. Mrs. Stefanik was selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star.
In 2019, Mrs. Stefanik was successful at the Ohio Supreme Court in overturning an Industrial Commission denial of disability benefits for her client. The Supreme Court agreed with her argument that the Industrial Commission of Ohio relied upon a flawed report and therefore the denial was an abuse of discretion.
When you have been injured at work and you are my client, if you have questions about the process, I commit to taking the time to listen and answer your concerns and guiding you through the workers’ compensation system.
