Seth Orkand
White Collar Criminal Defense and Title IX Attorney
Seth B. Orkand focuses his practice on white collar criminal defense, government and corporate internal investigations, research misconduct investigations, college and university disciplinary actions, and complex commercial litigation. He previously served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the United States Attorney’s Office in the District of Massachusetts, where he investigated and prosecuted, among other matters, health care fraud, child exploitation, identity fraud, computer crimes, mail and wire fraud, drug trafficking, firearms, and immigration offenses.
From 2007 to 2015, Mr. Orkand was an attorney at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP, where he represented individuals and corporations in a variety of government investigations and litigation matters. Mr. Orkand has particular experience in the areas of healthcare fraud, off-label marketing, securities enforcement and litigation, violations of the False Claims Act, computer and Internet crimes, and antitrust matters.
In 2011, Mr. Orkand served as a Special Assistant District Attorney in the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted 14 jury and bench trials to verdict.
Mr. Orkand earned a bachelor of arts with honors from Brown University in 1999. In 2007, he graduated cum laude from Boston College Law School, where he was the executive editor of the Boston College Third World Law Journal. While in law school, he interned with the Office of the Prosecutor at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia in the Hague.
Mr. Orkand is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, New York, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and the First Circuit Court of Appeals.
