Biography

I have worked very hard over the past several years by zealously representing my clients to earn the nickname in Tennessee as "the Bulldog." I am aggressive but compassionate about my work as a divorce and custody trial attorney. I have many years of experience with complex divorce and custody cases. I primarily handle domestic relations cases and have handled divorce and post-divorce cases for hardworking Americans, business owners, professionals, celebrities, country music executives, professional athletes, and other high-profile clients. My primary practice area is middle and East Tennessee.
I have personally experienced the difficult times of divorce and custody problems. I know the emotional turmoil, expense, and tragedy associated with divorce. My personal experience with divorce has made me an informed trial attorney. I want to help you through the most difficult period in your life. I want to assist you in looking at your case from several different perspectives that only come from personal and professional experience in this area of the law. My law firm is equipped with the best experts in the area and resources to prepare your case for trial. Most cases involving children should be resolved by only the mother and father. I will explore all options before you opt for the courtroom experience.
I am committed to getting you the best result.

Legal Answers
12 Questions Answered
Q. Do grandparents have to pay the child support if their minor child gets someone pregnant?
A: No. There is no responsibility for child support except from parents. As minors, the court will not enforce child support but it will be accounted for when the child emancipates.
Q. Can I run a add in the paper for a divorce and if the other spouse doesn't respond to it can I be granted a divorce
A: You must take all reasonable efforts to personally serve the divorce complaint on the defendant. If all efforts fail, you must file a Motion for service to be by publication and have it heard by the Court. Thereafter, the Court will rule and if granted you will run it for 4 weeks by publication in the specialized paper for your county. You need a lawyer to make sure you do it correctly or it could be thrown out many years after the divorce is granted if you didn't follow the law strictly. Its best to serve that person directly.
Q. How long do you have to try a civil matter after a decision is reversed and remanded on appeal?
A: Unless the Court of Appeals placed a time on the matter being heard, it will be docketed like all other cases for the county.
