Robert Rikard is the founding partner of RP Legal LLC, the nation’s only litigation firm dedicated exclusively to representing victims of Indexed Universal Life (IUL) insurance fraud. A nationally recognized authority in IUL litigation, Mr. Rikard has built a dedicated practice focused solely on helping clients recover losses from premium-financed IULs, IRA or 401k to IUL transfers, and policies deceptively marketed as “tax-free retirement income,” “private pension plans,” and similar deceptive marketing practices.
Mr. Rikard and his firm have represented hundreds of clients nationwide and have recovered tens of millions of dollars in damages for victims. In one of the country’s first jury trials involving a fraudulent IUL scheme, he secured a significant verdict against a major life insurance company. Through RP Legal LLC, he continues to lead the fight for financial accountability, delivering results for retirees, business owners, and professionals who were misled by aggressive insurance marketing and undisclosed policy risks.
Mr. Rikard is known for his ability to unravel complex policy structures, develop targeted litigation strategies, and expose the internal cost drivers, policy designs, and commission structures that cause these policies to collapse. His firm regularly takes on major insurers, brokers, and financial institutions, combining trial skill with deep subject-matter experience to achieve meaningful outcomes for clients.
Mr. Rikard has litigated complex civil and criminal cases across the United States since 1997. He has also served on steering committees in Multi-District Litigation (MDL) proceedings and has been appointed lead counsel in multiple class actions nationwide. He has tried to verdict a broad range of cases, including IUL fraud, wrongful death, trucking accidents, medical malpractice, and commercial disputes.
