Richard David Lebovitz
Experience, Integrity, ExcellenceRichard Lebovitz graduated from Emory University with a BA in 1989 having majored in Political Science and Economics. He Graduated from Duquesne University School of Law in 1992, and has been admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar since 1992, and the Maryland Bar since 2005. Richard heads up the office family and Real Estate sections. He represents clients with domestic relations matters, real estate matters, landlord/tenant disputes, litigation, Veteran's claims, contracts and estate practice. He is a member of the Baltimore County, Baltimore City and State of Maryland Bar Associations as well as the Maryland Association for Justice, (formerly Maryland Trial Lawyers Associations).

- Q. What is a default custody hearing? because my sons mother never responded to pleas for a custody hearing.
- A: A default hearing usually means that the responding party or Defendant has failed to file an answer to the moving party's complaint. The Plaintiff would then request a default from the court to allow the case to proceed. At the hearing, only the Plaintiff appears and the court would usually grant Plaintiff the requested relief. In a custody case, the above procedure is followed but the defaulting party is still given the opportunity to be heard at a hearing.
