I was born and raised in Akron, Ohio, where I also pursued my higher education. I graduated with a law degree from the University of Akron School of Law in 2020. During my law school years, I volunteered at Akron Law’s expungement clinic, assisting previously convicted community members in clearing their records for a new beginning. My legal practice is primarily focused on criminal defense representation.
My educational journey includes an Associate degree in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, in addition to my law degree, all obtained from the University of Akron. I have dedicated my life to serving both my local community and the nation. I served six years in the United States Marine Corps Reserve and was activated for Operation Desert Storm.
Before obtaining my Juris Doctor, I spent twenty-seven years with the Akron Police Department. A significant part of my career there involved assignments in the Detective Bureau, U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force, and Uniform Patrol Division.
In 1999, I was honored with the Russ Long Officer of the Year Award by the Akron Police Department. This award is given annually to an officer who exemplifies the outstanding qualities of Russ Long.
I am a member of the Portage County and State of Ohio Bar Associations, as well as the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

- Q. What are my chances I plead not guilty
- A: Your attorney will gather all of the evidence intended to be used against you; Police reports, victim/witness statements, body cam videos, bar videos, and any other evidence the government intends to use against you. Then, you'll know if you have triable or suppression issues to pursue.
- Q. I just found out I was issued m1 theft warrants what should I do
- A: Hello, I have had clients in your position. I contact the court's bailiffs and figure out a good time to bring in my client. Once before the judge, I ask the judge to recall the warrant, arraign you, and address bond. I try to get my clients a signature bond so they can go about their life. We then get a Pretrial date, file for Discovery, and proceed to tackle the case. Hope this helps.
- Q. How can I get a warrant for uncompleted community service hours dropped without going to jail?
- A: Hello, if I had a client in a similar situation I would contact the court staff and figure out a good time to bring you in and recall the warrant. I would then talk with the prosecutor and make her aware of your medical condition, supported by documentation. Ultimately, I would lobby to have the community service requirement removed, or find a doable alternative. The warrant hanging over your head is probably your biggest concern right now. The courts in my area are very understandable and willing to work with clients and counsel. I hope this helps.
