Paul H. Townsend

As a founding partner of Townsend, Tomaio & Newmark, Paul Townsend brings hands-on involvement and dedication to every aspect of his divorce and family law practice. He works tirelessly to ensure that his clients not only survive but thrive before, during and after their work together through his honesty, directness, and personal compassion for his clients and their families.

Paul is uniquely qualified to understand and work through the emotional pain of divorce with his clients because he has been through divorce in his own life; his work is deeply personal to him in this way. When clients feel as though they are losing control of their lives, he is there to understand their concerns and help them weather the storm that is divorce. He's an attorney who has the professional expertise and the personal connection to the experience of divorce that is essential to getting clients through this difficult time.

Paul has been Certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as Matrimonial Law attorney, a distinction that only two percent of his peers have also received. He has the honor of having been selected to the New Jersey Super Lawyers list for over fifteen consecutive years. Paul was awarded a Juris Doctorate in 1984 from the Ohio Northern University School of Law, and received his undergraduate degree from Albright College. He's admitted to practice in the state of NJ and the District Court of NJ.

Paul involves his clients in every aspect of their case, knowing that they are intelligent people who deserve to know all of the facts so that they can come to a decision on the best course of action for themselves and their families. A client will not be told what the course of action is; Paul will discuss all options with his clients, and they will make those decisions together.
