Biography

I help people with complex legal, financial, and personal issues during what is often the most traumatic times of their lives.

A worked as a Senior Probation Officer in Child Support Enforcement while attending Law School at night at Temple University, Beasley School of Law. In law school, I received various awards. I was a Law Faculty Scholar, a member of the prestigious Temple Law Review, and an award-winning member of the Moot Court Honor Society.

After law school, I clerked for two wonderful judges: the Hon. Mary Jacobson, who is currently the Mercer County Assignment Judge, and the Hon. Catherine Fitzpatrick. Both of these judges was the Presiding Judge of the Mercer County Family Part at the time of my clerkships. I practiced Family Law at a distinguished New Jersey law firm for the decade following my clerkships, before establishing Conte Family Law LLC in 2021.

Conte Family Law LLC is focused exclusively on New Jersey Divorce and Family Law matters, including child custody, child support, spousal support, equitable distribution of assets and debts, and all other similar legal matters.

Q. Whats the process to file a motion acting as my own lawyer?? This is for family court for my sons mother to follow order
A: https://www.njcourts.gov/forms/10483_post_jdg_kit.pdf
Q. Hello! My 9 years old refuses to go overnight with her dad, should I force her?
A: It's impossible to give you advice about your situation in this type of forum. Family law attorneys see a whole spectrum of broken family dynamics. In some cases, children have legitimate fear of one parent for legitimate reasons. In other cases, children pick up cues and/or are manipulated by a favored parent, to mirror powerful negative emotions and anxieties about the other parent. Without knowing you, the child's father, and watching each of your interactions with your young child, how would anyone be able to judge why things are the way that they are? One thing that can be understood from your question is that you do not have faith in your attorney's judgment. That suggests that you should probably have consultations with other family law attorneys, to see if you can find someone else who you trust with these delicate issues. Regarding your child, since you can't seem to understand things and since you have two attorneys already involved, it may be time to consider a forensic child custody expert. They don't come cheap - but they are the experts who will interview each parent, the child, witness the child interface with either parent, subject everyone to psychological testing, and look at everyone's psychological history in order to apply their expertise to a situation like yours...
Q. My soon to be ex wife has sent me a divorce complaint. I don't have a problem with anything in complaint.
A: The problem is what is in her request for judgment and whether you have all potential disputes resolved. If you have any outstanding disputes (child custody/support, alimony, equitable distribution of assets and/or debts), then you have to be very, very careful about what you sign. You should probably schedule a consultation with a competent divorce and family law attorney to consider your circumstances and the language contained in the complaint and the waiver that you have been asked to sign, before you sign anything.
