As Founder and President of Barrett Law, a boutique law firm located in Windermere, Lynn Barrett focuses on educating and helping healthcare providers navigate the complex and ever-changing world of laws and regulations that govern today's health care delivery system. Lynn has helped hundreds of providers understand and comply with a wide range of corporate and health care laws.
Prior to opening her practice, Lynn spent half of her 34-year career in private practice and the other half in-house at for-profit, non-profit and public systems, where she served in such roles as General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer. These experiences have allowed her to understand the inner workings of delivery systems and offer practical guidance and solutions to clients.
After graduating from Carnegie-Mellon University, Lynn knew she wanted to help people, a goal that came into focus when she served as the Director of a senior center. While there, Lynn took a direction she had not previously considered: law. Since graduating from New York University’s School of Law, Lynn has been able to fulfill her mission to make a difference by guiding healthcare organizations through regulatory and compliance challenges, allowing them to focus on what matters most—patient care.
Following her mother's footsteps as an educator, Lynn is also passionate about developing the next generation of professionals, having served as an Adjunct Professor at multiple distinguished institutions. Lynn believes that teaching reinforces her commitment to explaining complex legal concepts in understandable and accessible terms.
When Lynn steps away from the world of Law, she loves to spend her time being active, including taking Irish dance lessons. Recently, she began to learn how to horseback ride and one day hopes to open a horse sanctuary. She has begun to study Equine Law to help her achieve that goal.
