Professional Experience
Associate Attorney
Johnson, Peddrick, and McDonald, PLLC
- Current
Estate administration comprises about half of my practice and includes the probate process, but also trust administration, claiming benefits from life insurance and retirement plans, and complying with tax responsibilities (completing estate tax and fiduciary income tax returns). About a quarter of my practice is estate planning, where I meet with clients to become acquainted with them, their goals, and their family structures, and then craft a suite of documents, often highly customized, to help carry out those goals. The rest of my practice includes a variety related to the above two major areas, including tax law, small business law, guardianships, and beneficiary representation. I often work closely with professionals in allied fields, including financial planning, accounting, and insurance. I enjoy giving seminars and doing pro bono work to educate the public on estate planning and to ensure that the most vulnerable among us have at least basic protection.
