Joseph Marc Gorrell

In more than 35 years of practicing health law, I have advised a wide variety of clients, including hospitals and their medical staffs, nursing homes, IPAs, physician groups and individual clients. My practice ranges broadly in the health care law environment, from drafting organizational bylaws to sales of medical practices and from physician contracts to litigation. An experienced litigator, I have successfully defended physicians against allegations of insurance fraud and of professional misconduct before the New Jersey State Board of medical Examiners and the New York Office of Professional Medical Conduct.

I have also favorably argued six cases before the Supreme Court of New Jersey, as well as many cases before New Jersey’s Superior Court, Appellate Division. Notable among them are New Jersey Association of Nurse Anesthetists Inc. v. New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners, 183 N.J. 605 (2005), and St. Peter's University Medical Center v. Lacy, 185 N.J. 1 (2005.) Earlier in my career, I was a Deputy Attorney General for the State of New Jersey for seven years.
